pontem

Pontem is a multimedia library located in the suburbs of Paris. This library aims to gather generations together and create links between people by offering services, resources and space in the sector of digital information and public culture.

The circular shapes of this library merge together in order to facilitate the pathway between the different library areas. Within its architectural program, Pontem gives access to a series of different activity rooms, study rooms and workshops enabling everyone to find their own place inside the architectural structure. The conception of the whole architectural concept, as well as the scale model was made alongside Chloé Massip.

Then, I worked on my own and focused on the interior layout of the kid area and playroom. Once again, the circular shapes of the floor plan facilitate the passing between the distinctive zones. These shapes are also reminiscent of the mother's womb and help kids feel at ease in their dedicated area.
