The prompt of this project was to redesign an art gallery for a pop-up event celebrating a piece of furniture that has marked the history of design.

 

Here, Konstantin Grcic invites you to rediscover the work of art that has propelled his career: the all-time famous Chair One, manufactured by Magis. The spirit of this chair is reflected in this brutalist and refined showroom, and echoes the germanic mind of the designer. The materials of this project which are essentially limited to concrete and die-casted aluminium, associate brutality and high-standard technological performances to highlight the industrial style of the chair. This association results in a graphic and sculptural harmony, in tribute to the rigour of Konstantin Grcic.
